So, I have not been keeping up with my scripture memory, and thought I'd better get back to it. I have found it sooooo helpful to be able to focus my mind on the scriptures to bring myself back to clarity with God. I have a tendency to get overwhelmed but negative things, thoughts, etc and by bringing these verses back into my mind by memory truly helps to refocus. So, here it is:
3 If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself withought comparing himself to somebody else.
Galatians 6:3-4 NIV
I think verse 4 is really going to be the kicker for me since I find myself continually comparing myself to others.

Crochet crazy
I have to say, ever since I picket up the crochet hook again, I've gone a little crochet crazy. It's all I can think about! My new thing I love right now is Amigurumi! Love it. It's cute little stuffed crocheted animals. Did I mention they are cute? I'm working on a little lamb right now. I have no idea what I will do with them (?) but who cares. Next up is this cute little bunny, which will be right in time for Easter!
So, also I stumbled upon another thing by accident that I had to make. The pattern calls for stitch markers, which I did not have. So, over to Joann's I went and bought some with my 40% coupon. Two things annoyed me about that purchase. #1 I bought them and while waiting for Jan to checkout I was looking at the magazines and attached to one of the knitting mags were free stitch markers! Cute ones with little hanging beads! So, I realized they would be super easy to make! And so had to make some. Now I have lots of stitch markers. Then, and this is probably the worst - I had a gift card in my purse for Joann's!!!! Bah. I didn't even remember until this morning! And, I had specifically gone in thinking "I have a gift card to use". Oh well. I'll try and remember next time and use it one something super fabulous!
In my flower bed I noticed yesterday that my tulips and daffodils are just starting to come back up. Spring is so hopeful, isn't it? Even though it's still FREEZING cold and snow flurries still coming down ~ Spring is going to come and bring beauty with it. It happens every year, and so far it still amazes me. I hope it always does.

Waiting for Spring
Sorry, still no pics! I need to get new batteries for my camera I believe, but actually remembering that in the store? Not so much.
I started my new job this past Monday, and I think it's going to be good :) I'm getting my desk organized and situated the way I like things - everything easy to find and grab quickly when I need it. All the ladies and the Doctor seem very cool so far, and I hope it stays that way.
I have been knitting and also a little crochet, and embroidery (!). I was in the big resale store, it's one of those places you can have a booth and sell whatever, and there's a giant booth that has glassware. I was perusing the aisles and happened upon some older magazines, books, etc. What caught my eye was an old knitting pattern book. Of course it was in a plastic thing where you had to buy it all and truly I did not want it all. I copied down a pattern for a neat short scarf and that's the knitting project (among like 2 others) that I've been working on at lunch time. I think it may take awhile b/c the yarn is super skinny.
I kind of want to make a crochet animal or something to that effect - or knit? They just are so dern cute! What would I possibly do with it though??? hmm.
In other news, we started our new bible study last week and this one may be a doozy! It's another Beth Moore one, Esther. Already I think it's been good.
Also, it's still snowing. I'm just hoping for now that at least by July it will stop. Maybe? Or at least be warm some day. Although, this year really has been better than last year so I should not complain.

No title
I have had a whirlwind last few days, so I apologize ahead of time if this is a very scattered post. First, I did finally get my swap package mailed off and she got it in time for Valentine's Day, Yahoo! I had received mine the week prior and felt so guilty because although I already had everything bought, I just didn't get it to the post office in time! I also did receive my swap from Heidi at Spiritual Knitter, it was from the Christmas swap. A little overdue but I understand since she had just been so busy with her new baby. I do have pictures to post, but alas my batteries died as I was loading them! Bah!
Next, I will be starting a new job again in a couple of weeks. It literally came out of nowhere, and I wasn't looking so it took me by surprise and I'm still a little shell-shocked. Looking forward to it, but also a little nervous.
I have also been crocheting some more. Luckily for me there is a lady at work who crochets and she showed me what the stitches should look like. That was always where I would start to get confused. I would read the pattern and think I got it, but then start and it just would look NOTHING like the picture so I'd know I didn't really get it! The first heart I made turned out so cute, I'm going to make more :)
I went to see "Confessions of a Shopaholic" last night and I LOVED it! I was laughing out loud in that really embarrassing way - no one else was laughing and I couldn't stop! Hee, hee - who cares? It was one of those that you leave and wish it was already out on video so you could just go buy it!
Yesterday was a crop (scrapbooking) with a group of regular ladies. It was soooo nice to see everyone! And really, I haven't seen them for like 3 months! Crazy. I very literally did not even get anything accomplished. I have an idea for my page though!
Oh, yeah, here's also my memory verse for today:
1 Samuel 7:12 (New International Version)
12 Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen. He named it Ebenezer, saying, "Thus far has the LORD helped us."
It is really, really relevant for me right now! I am ever trying to rely on Him, so "thus far has the LORD helped me".

Crochet possibly?
Okay, crochet is soooo not my strong point, BUT I saw the cutest project in the Joann's mailer I received the other day! I think I have to try it, and looking at the pattern I think I might even be able to pull it off! (like I need another project!) I am almost done with my Valentine's swap, need to get that in the mail this week fo sho! I had soooo much fun shopping for everything, I got to pick out stuff that I would love to get because my partner is a fellow scrapbooker! So, I'm hoping she'll like everything. I'm also working on a gift for one of my best friends in the whole world. Hee, hee - I kind of like having this kind of secret!
Oh, man! I can't believe I forgot this - Michael's opened this past weekend! I was so there, and it's pretty fabulous except for one teeny snag. They don't have a classroom! Can you believe that? I mean, for real - how am I going to take fun classes? Everything was brand new, the carts, the whole store - loved it!

Fun
My blog has been a little serious the last few posts, so here's some craftiness to mix it up a bit :) I think I may have too many projects going on! So, to help myself I must make a list:
1. I cut out a pair of PJ pants from a pink sheet bought from Goodwill - I think I will sew them up today. The great part of sewing from a sheet is that since there is a seam on the bottom I don't have to put in a hem!
2. I have been diligently knitting at lunchtime on the baby blanket for hubby's cousins baby who is probably almost 6 months old by now! I figure if I at least do one or two rows every day or two I'll get it done eventually!
3. Sort of a secret knitting project since it is going to be a gift - BUT I found the cutest pattern for a dish towel at the knitting pattern central - and I can't wait to try it out! It's one that has a shape knitted into it in a texture. I bought the yarn yesterday at Joann's. Can't for the life of me remember what color my friends kitchen is, so picked fairly neutral colors!
4. I found this fun package of sequins, beads, and pins at the thrift that was like a kit to make a Christmas ornament. I did not exactly want to make an ornament since Christmas was over when I started it - I had a styrofoam shape of a tree and at first thought it might not turn out Christmasy. But, it is so once I finish I'll just put it away for next year. It's turning out cute though - I wrapped the tree in ribbon and am sticking the beads and sequins all over with the pins. Very sparkly.
5. Felt and glitter - so many options! I am going to make some sort of Valentine decorations...possibly a wall hanging thing? I don't know, I just know I love glitter and felt LOL!

Delayed reaction I guess :)
Okay, so tomorrow being the 15th means I'm either early for my scripture memory verse or late for the one on the 1st. LOL Whoops. Since I'm pretty much late for everything I guess that means I'm late! Whichever way I am, I did memorize a verse. Here goes:
The spirit of the lord is on me because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners, and recovery of sight to the blind to release the oppressed and to proclaim the year of the lord's favor. Luke 4:18-19 (!)
Okay, so I did type it from memory but then retouched a couple of words because I have restore instead of recovery of sight for the blind and I forgot the "he has sent me to proclaim". But, not bad anyways huh?
I had been racking my brain like what am I going to memorize??? And, so I was doing my morning devotion working on my bible study and it's in Luke (Beth Moore's Jesus the one and Only) and RIGHT as I started to read that verse the song that started playing was Mandisa unshackled or unchained or something like that can't remember the name of the song (hee hee I was doing a memory verse and can't even remember the name of a song?) but anyway the one line says "Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance" and I LOVE that song! So I'm grooving at the kitchen table to that song and read that verse and just knew it was the one!
I have to say that I have really enjoyed memorizing....and it gives me a new respect for public speakers. It is hard to even memorize two lines, I can't imagine memorizing a whole speech! It has also given me a new focus on His word! Which I love, love, love. The other night, I felt my mood turn downwards, so I started to try and bring up in my mind the verses....and my mood not only lifted I forgot about why I was spiraling down. You know how it is you have to experience things for yourself to truly "get it". I had read this book, "Loving God with All Your Mind," which is about capturing your thoughts. I think it had a part about memorizing scriptures, and I never really tried it. I'm so relieved to have another tool to use! I wonder what my next verse will be???
