loss

100_3323[2] Of course I was a mess at the memorial but I had written something ahead of time optimistically thinking that somehow I would be able to speak coherently to the crowd. It didn't happen. This is what I would have said:

It is unfathomable that Scott is gone, he is a beautiful soul who is missed by everyone who ever met him. There is no way to sum up his life and who he is in a few words. I don't have anything profound to share, just a few snippets, in no particular order: He loved old time radio and Sherlock Holmes. He loved french roast coffee, black. He is the wittiest, funniest guy ever. He loved fishing with his Grandad. He loved the ocean, and hunting for agates. He loved playing music. He is so smart. He could figure out any song just by ear and then play it. He could fix any engine. He put everyone at ease around him and made everyone comfortable and welcome. He was the cool kid, the hot guy. He was graceful and ambidextrous. He had such a way with animals. He was excellent at drawing. He had natural talent and abilities and was a self taught musician. His hands were so big and strong. He could keep a secret better than anyone. He was a good listener. He would help anyone if could, and would go out of his was to do so. He loved his family so, so much. He had an awesome laugh and if you could really get him to laugh that was really cool. He loved being tall. He loved Christmastime and hot chocolate. His favorite color is green, like his first Ford truck which he named Stomper. His eyes were the color of the ocean under blue sky. He loved God. He is pure gold.

This is the hardest thing I've had to write.  I am a widow.  I won't go into details but I just need any prayers I can get to surround me and all of our families.
