Delayed reaction I guess :)

Okay, so tomorrow being the 15th means I'm either early for my scripture memory verse or late for the one on the 1st. LOL Whoops. Since I'm pretty much late for everything I guess that means I'm late! Whichever way I am, I did memorize a verse. Here goes:
The spirit of the lord is on me because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners, and recovery of sight to the blind to release the oppressed and to proclaim the year of the lord's favor. Luke 4:18-19 (!)
Okay, so I did type it from memory but then retouched a couple of words because I have restore instead of recovery of sight for the blind and I forgot the "he has sent me to proclaim". But, not bad anyways huh?
I had been racking my brain like what am I going to memorize??? And, so I was doing my morning devotion working on my bible study and it's in Luke (Beth Moore's Jesus the one and Only) and RIGHT as I started to read that verse the song that started playing was Mandisa unshackled or unchained or something like that can't remember the name of the song (hee hee I was doing a memory verse and can't even remember the name of a song?) but anyway the one line says "Take the shackles off my feet so I can dance" and I LOVE that song! So I'm grooving at the kitchen table to that song and read that verse and just knew it was the one!
I have to say that I have really enjoyed memorizing....and it gives me a new respect for public speakers. It is hard to even memorize two lines, I can't imagine memorizing a whole speech! It has also given me a new focus on His word! Which I love, love, love. The other night, I felt my mood turn downwards, so I started to try and bring up in my mind the verses....and my mood not only lifted I forgot about why I was spiraling down. You know how it is you have to experience things for yourself to truly "get it". I had read this book, "Loving God with All Your Mind," which is about capturing your thoughts. I think it had a part about memorizing scriptures, and I never really tried it. I'm so relieved to have another tool to use! I wonder what my next verse will be???
